After you send it

What actually happens next.

Four steps, no sales sequence, and a written view at the end of it whether or not you work with us.

  1. 01Same day

    We read it properly

Your note goes to someone who works in your sector, not into a shared inbox that gets triaged on Friday. If it is clearly outside what we do, we will say so and point you somewhere better.

  2. 021 business day

    A reply with substance

You get a response within one business day containing an actual view: what we think the problem is, what we would want to know next, and whether we are the right people for it.

  3. 03Within the week

    A conversation, not a pitch

Forty-five minutes with the people who would do the work. We will ask about constraints, existing systems and what has already been tried, because that is what shapes the estimate.

  4. 04A few days after

    Something written down

A short note setting out the approach, the shape of a first phase and an indicative range. Free, and yours to take to another firm if you would rather.

Worth including

What makes a first reply useful.

None of this is required. It is simply what lets us come back with something substantive instead of a list of questions.

  • What you are trying to change, in plain terms. The technology can come later.
  • What exists today, including the parts you are not proud of. Those usually matter most.
  • Any date that is fixed, and why it is fixed.
  • Roughly what you have to spend, even as a range. It changes what we would recommend.
  • Who else is involved in the decision.

Frequently asked

Before you get in touch.

Still unsure? Read how we run an engagement.

01How quickly will I hear back?

Within one business day, from a person rather than an autoresponder. If your enquiry arrives over a weekend it will be answered on Monday. If we are not the right fit we will tell you in that first reply rather than taking a call to arrive at the same conclusion.

02Do I need a finished specification before getting in touch?

No, and most of the work we take on does not start with one. A paragraph describing the problem is enough. If anything, arriving with a fully specified solution tends to narrow the conversation before we have agreed what is actually wrong.

03What size of engagement do you take on?

Most projects start somewhere between a scoped first phase and a multi-quarter programme. We are a small senior team, so we take on fewer engagements than a larger firm and we will tell you early if a piece of work is too small to serve well or too large for our current capacity.

04Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, routinely, and before any detail is shared if you prefer. Send yours and we will review it, or ask and we will send ours. It is not a stage that needs to slow anything down.

05Can you work with our existing team or incumbent supplier?

Usually, and often that is the better arrangement. A good deal of our work runs alongside an in-house team rather than replacing one, and we have taken over systems built by other firms. What we ask for is clarity about who owns which decisions.

06What happens to the information I send?

It goes to the people assessing your enquiry and nowhere else. We do not sell or share enquiry data, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us. Our privacy policy sets out the detail.

Prefer to talk it through?

Call or message during India business hours. Outside them, leave a message and we will call you back.
